I'm jealous of your nice warm weather!

The fish is dead. Long lived the fish.

I guess it was his time to go. The pond water was probably at about 34 degrees and over the course of several days I brought him up to about 50. Then I took him inside the bird room (72 degrees) and he died the next morning. He never came out of his hibernation properly and spat out the peas that I tried to feed him. We figure he was probably in his teens so age was most likely a factor.

I figured that taking him out of the pond would either kill him or cure him. Either way, he'd be out of his misery. Thanks for all your help.

Now onto a more important subject. Namely me! LOL This is best told from my dog's point of view so here goes.

----------

I do have a very funny story to tell. You won't believe this but mama had to go to the vet! hehe haha Yep, all that torture she puts us through finally turned around and bit her in the butt! (Actually I don't mind going to the vet but don't tell her that!)

You see, she was trimming hooves on Monday. Lots of goat hooves, got them all done and then she started on Pippin's. She was trimming the last hoof and musing to herself that she managed to get through them all without even rasping her thumb when suddenly she felt the knife sink deep (1/2 inch) into the back of hand at the base of her thumb. She gasped and worked really fast to finish that last hoof and put everything away before bleeding over everything.

Poor Pippin wasn't too thrilled with the blood all over his hay so she gave him some new stuff and then went inside to clean herself up. After examining the wound which wouldn't stay shut or stop bleeding she thought she'd just put a stitch in the middle to keep it closed.

Well, everyone thought she was out of her mind and screamed at her to call the doctor. We live in the middle of nowhere and after calling 3x with no answer she had a brainwave. Why not ask the vet?

So, the long and short of it is that the vet stitched her up and everyone who works there crowded around in fascination to see the deed done. The vet told her if she wasn't good she'd have to wear the cone of shame! hehe

Kermit and I got to go along for the ride. I wanted to put a leash on mama and lead her in but she made me stay in the car. I was laughing all the way home!

The best part? No charge. Mama's thinking about switching clinics...

Leaving a vote for you and I hope you're smiling!
