Algae
I do add CO2 to the aquarium. My filter is a Magnum 350. About three months ago I put the lights on a timer so they get 2 hours in the morning and then five hours in the evening. It's in a room with windows but the shades are closed all the time to help keep out the heat. It does not get direct sunlight at any time. The only plants I know the names of is my amazon swords, and the lilly. The other plant just grows and grows. I'm always clipping and then planting. So since I have all live plants and so many of them, fast growing too, I'm surprised I have such an algae problem. I used to have a small pleco but he died after about a month. Never did see him active around the tank or eating any algae, which I was told he would do. I think he starved to death, poor thing. Phosphate is low and I've tried different phosphate removers anyway but I never saw a difference in my readings. Any ideas? Left a vote.
