Hey buddy! Glad to hear you had a lovely vacation! Better luck next time with the angling. And sorry to hear about your losses. It’s a real drag losing fish like that. With ich you should slowly raise the temperature to around 28C and add some salt, a tsp. to every 10l of water. Growing plants is very rewarding pursuit in the aquarium hobby and its nice that you want to try it. I personally love it. I could recommend some fast growers that will have your tank looking like a jungle in just over a month. Cabomba, Valisneria, hygrophilia are all easy to keep and do not require special water treatments and fertilizers or Carbon dioxide injection. Some hobbyist choose to go with ‘difficult’ plants which require special lights and so on. You could opt for that later, but for now, to get a feel for how it goes, you will do well to go with the ‘easier’ lot. So what are you planning to stock your tank with fishwise? I’m still looking out for brackish water species. But in the third world, availability can be a problem as they are not too common around these parts. Will have to wait. Winter is coming to an end, the trees are blossoming and the vegetation is sprouting new leaves. Spring will officially begin at the start of September. My kid is sick, she’s got flu and its slowly betting better. Two year olds can be very difficult when they’re sick. She’s still hooked on Barney, which I’m so thankful for. I hate Barney, but we are indebted to him for calming my daughter and keeping her happy. I had lost one of my snakes about 8 weeks ago and I finally caught her after weeks of searching. She is a grey rat snake, an American snake, about 3years old and 6 ft long. She got out when I left a gap in the slider not realizing it. I’ve lost her a few times already. I also have a Taiwanese rat snake who is also an escape artist, but she is not as wily as my other. And of course, Tweety my parakeet is well. Well bud, it was nice to hear from you too!
