Hi Your tetras ingnore your goldfish in hopes of not being eaten! ha ha! I don't think it's strange that your goldfish eats your plants, they will eat them. Thou I have a goldfish with a live plant and it leaves it alone. Since I don't "feed" the plant it looks kindof sickly so it's no wonder the fish leaves it alone. Do you give your goldfish any veggie crisps/flakes? All my freshwater and the goldfish go into a fish feeding frenzy when I put them in. It may eat those and stay away from your plant then. Leaving you a vote.
