Hello Wow, it sounds like you have been having quite a time. Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope it heals quickly for you. My husband broke his leg Nov. 3rd and he is having such troubles. It's healing very slow. He got his cast off this week and now is in an air cast for 3 weeks. Since getting the air cast, his foot and toes are swelled way up. He has been very good today and stayed off it. I told him I thought the boot was to tight and that he's been over doing it. That's to bad about your fish. And your tank. I am glad that you got a new tank and are keeping with the hobby. Although today has been challenging for me in the hobby. I bought a pair of blue rams a few weeks ago. Was housing them together to see if they would spawn. Well something happened to her eye. It was swelled and look horrible. She died today. Plus I finally bought myself a few little live plants to try. Got home tonight and my fish had pulled them all out. So the plants are floating on the top of the water. So I am going to have some tank work this weekend. I put my male ram in my community tank for now. So that freed up my little 10 gallon up. Not sure what I will move into it. I have a couple pg guppies. If I caught the drops I could put those fry in there. My lemon sword is about to drop too. But not to long ago I also bought some cory cats. Four of them. I would think I got both sexes and it would be fun to see if they would lay eggs. So right now I am not sure what I am going to do. Well dear take care of yourself.
