Hi!
Hello Kerry! good to hear from you. I'd been busy this whole week, I'm part of the skeleton crew and well, to put it lightly, this year we were dumped in a crock o' shoyte! My Africans do that too, they move substrate around like blimming bulldozers. Sounds like you guys get that Cape Town climate. Its not too cold, but damn does it ever rain. I'm glad to be staying up in the north east of South Africa, we're closer to the tropic of capricorn and its pretty mild here, yet I still like winter. Its actually warm during the day, but the nights are cold and we have Atlantic cold fronts from the south, which sometimes has us in an icy grip for a couple of days, but snow and ice, nothing of the sort. My Africans are stressed by the 30C temp. It is the ambient temperature during this season, but I swicthed theirs off since october. Its the discus tank's one that I switched off recently, as it was reaching 32-33C. They don't mind, but just for peace of mind, I have kept up a good water change regimen and I always pour in water that is 2 degrees colder, and it refreshes, nay, invigorates them....They are so much more vibrant after a water change. Votes for you! All the best wishes to you and your loved ones for the New Year! Happy New Year! Cheers!! Stokes
