Hey dude! Howzit going man? Sorry to hear you’re having a hard time at school. Are you a freshman or initiate or whatever they call it on your side of the world? Sounds harsh dude, you speak to you mom about taking up Karate? Try not to get into fights, if you have to, then you fight like a lion. I remember getting into fights when I was young. Its part of like and growing up, but bullying and such is not good. Those tormentors that pick on you and make fun of you are basically making up for some inadequacies in the lives, maybe the lack of their parents love, maybe they feel people don’t like them and so they behave like idiots seeking attention. There’s a bunch of reasons, still none of them justify being a bully. I wouldn’t say that initiation is part of my culture, I’m actually from mixed ancestry. These are the traditions of the Xhosa, Zulu and Swazi people, collectively called Nguni people, they are related by geneaology and language. Many people of Zulu and Xhosa heritage work around here. There are still many other traditions from other tribes, but I do not know all, they do not live in my region, so exposure to them or their cultures is almost nothing. Where I stay, the Tswana people originally lived. Many Tswana live in Botswana, but many more live in South Africa. Now its pretty mixed up around the cities, any tribe or race can be found anywhere. Before non-whites were restricted from inhabiting or moving in and around ‘white’ areas. That was during the apartheid era, life pretty much sucked. Especially on vacation, we were given the worst beaches and resorts to go to. While a few European individuals had a mile of golden beach to themselves. I do not watch much cartoons and programs really. I liked Pokemon and watched the movie in a cinema when I took my little cousins. I watch reality programs and documentaries a lot, I love the Simpsons and IR Baboon and I am Weasel, do you know it? Otherwise I like Action movies, Sci-fi, horror and fantasy, historical movies, especially set in the ancient times, and the middle ages. I used to like watching a lot of war flicks and westerns but not recently. I tend to read a lot of non-fiction books. I love to read about archaeology and history, technology, literature, the arts, aquariums and fish and herpetology texts. My taste in music is varied, I like anything from any genre that sounds good. I like reggae, particularly dub reggae, house, trance, 80s pop, 90s hip hop and R&B, various genres of rock. Among my favourite performers are UB40, Queen, REM, Earth Wind and Fire, George Michael.
