Greetings!
Hi! I’m well dude, and I hope you are well too! Yes, the plants are live plants. Well, the thing is my tank is not an all out planted tank. Many of the plants are potted and some are planted in rthe substrate. However, I do not have a special plant substrate as such and the plants I selected are all tolerant of the warmer end of the temperature range, as it is for discus. Many plants I tried would die after a few days. As far as lighting goes, if you plan on trying a few out, I think a lamp with 1000K to 15000K should be able to grow plants quite nicely. You should aim to get lamps that mimic the tropical sun, as they grow nicely under those. Perhaps you should get a good aquatic plant fertiliser from SERA or Tetra. Can’t think of anything else. My tank is tailored or the fish rather than plants, so I don’t go all out like some other aquarists, who invest in CO2 diffusers and special grow lamps. When my plants die I don’t wonder why, I just go out and get some more. But I must admit, since I tried a fertiliser and some grow lamps, my plants are doing a whole lot better. Yes, indeed any body of water generally has that effect, but the sea epitomises that feeling. I do hope you will live your dream and maybe one day visit Africa. Martial Arts was good, I trained in Karate, Shaolin Wu Shu and kickboxing some years back when I was younger. I found Wu Shu to be quite challenging. Unfortunately our master had some bad luck and was unable to train us thereafter. It was a pity as he was very good. In Karate I started out in Mas Oyama School. It is not a traditional school like Shotokan. It was founded by Mas Oyama who opened schools everywhere. Then our grandmaster died and the school splintered. Here in S.A. it became SA Oyama, but eventually we were sick of having to take demotions and learn a new syllabus. Our sensei still teaches, but he is now teaching the Seido style. You look like you could handle it. Martial Arts is a great way to unwind and it brings discipline into your life. I don’t train any martial arts anymore, but its like riding a bike, you will never forget it. The dogs sound like they keep you busy. Jess is probably one of those very vocal dogs. It may be her personality, some dogs just are that way. Is she jealous at all of Max? Give ‘em both a pat from me! Otherwise take care and I’ll chat to you soon! Cheers! Stokes
