Greetings!
Hey dude! Thanks for your compliments on grandpa’s tank! You may find this interesting, the tank is older than me. It’s from the late forties, the frame is angle iron and the glass is puttied on and the putty is painted with enamel. The tank has a slate bottom and weighs a ton. I’m glad you like the ocean pictures. I bet you will love it on our East coast. The water is always warm and its tropical outside the tropics (technically sub-tropical). The coastline is mostly pristine sandy beaches punctuated with rocky areas. The current is pretty strong owing to the Mozambican channel current, so typically it’s the type of beach that one can swim but only as far as the buoys appear. Beyond that you’d probably get swept out to sea, AND there are many sharks in that area. There is always a need for rescue swimmers there. The monkeys live in the hills among the trees in the area. They come down to forage for leftover food and scraps. In recent years they have been raiding villages and homes in the area. They have worked out that food is always available in human dwellings. We were advise to refrain from feeding them as it only encourages them. However they are very accustomed to humans and you can come up real close to them without them being afraid. The snake that is pictured at the end is probably a green tree snake juvenile, reputed to have the most potent venom among all snakes. Needless to say, but that was as far as I got to it! You should post some pictures of your trip to Colorado. It would be interesting to see what its like. I miss my Reno very much, I had him as a very young pup and he was very close to me. I think the fact that you have two dogs makes it difficult to control them. However you can turn it to your advantage and take charge of both dogs. You need to reinforce good behaviour with treats while showing the dogs that good behaviour gets good rewards and bad behaviour begets a scolding. It instills a sort of jealously and they will go out of their way to please you. Flu has still got me and now my daughter too. She is doing much better now after having consulted the paediatrician. Still, its never nice when your kid is sick. Thanks for the vote dude, and here’s one back at ya! Cheers! Stokes
