hello thanks for stoppin by and lookin at my tank. about the hippo, yes there are prone to getting ich! if you have a qt i would recommend putting it in there for close to a month that way if the ich gets out of hand you can treat just that fish instead of the whole tank. i dont have a qt setup so after i acclimated it to my water she just went in. i did notice white spots on her that were only noticeable when the lights came on and after about 30 mins to an hr they were gone, that lasted for bout a week to 2 weeks! never had the lateral line! with the hippo remember they need a lot of room they can reach 12 in. well good luck keep me posted on how it goes for you! hears another vote
