Hello Thanks for the visit. The grass is artificial. My husband thinks the brand name is Pennflax. We bought it at a major pet chain store. We tried dwarf hair grass and baby tears and by the time it was eaten picked apart or floating all over our tank I was almost in tears! LOL So we decided to go with the grass disks. It is very easy to keep clean so that was a big plus too. Have a great day!
