Hello I think the red tailed black shark gets around 6 inches. I also have a pair of rainbow sharks. They have brown bodies with brite orange fins and tail. They are very flashy looking too. I had the rainbows and liked them so much. When I saw the red tailed I had to have them. Since getting them I have read that you should not house more than one pair in the same tank. But mine all get along fine. I would guess my red tails are a little over 3 inches long and the rainbows are 4 inches.So if they were not going to get along I think that I would have had troubles with them along time ago.
