New Safari Pics!
Hi! Yes, it was certainly a bummer but we got around it somehow. We believe its good luck too whenever it rains on a wedding. Then the bride is blamed for eating out of the pot too, which is an old African tradition! How are the shows going? It was really busy until Thursday and then by 14H00, everyone cleared out of here and went home early. Didn’t do much for Friday and Saturday, but Sunday we spent at the Rhino and Lion Park, where we took my cousin and her kids. She is from here, and has been living in the U.S. for about 5 years now. She came over for the wedding last weekend. The trip was great, I enjoyed it immensely. Check out my new pictures on the Safari blog! I attended a snake show while there. At this conservancy there are many wild Southern African snakes, like green and black mamba, boomslang, rinkhals, puff adders, Mozambican spitters, Cape Cobra, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, tortoises and some exotic species like Indian Cobra and various non-venomous snakes from all over the world. The show focused primarily on each of the dangerous snakes and what to do when you come across them. The only non-venomous snake from Africa was the Rock Python. They are fairly aggressive compared with boas and some other python species and they grow to massive proportions here, but mainly in the north of the country where they reach gigantic lengths such that they almost permanently live in water. It was all very enjoyable. It rained so we had to leave early. The place turns muddy and then you need a 4X4 vehicle. On my way out I lost traction up a hill and went sliding down. Anyways I was glad not to be stuck or have a puncture. There are lions abound in that area! Good to hear from you! Take care! Cheers!
