Hi! You’re welcome. I know what its like to lose a dog, its plain awful. My poochy Tequila got lost one day when I let her out for a play in the fields. She disappeared for a week and we had feared the worst. Beside venturing onto public roads where she could have ended up as roadkill, she could be bitten by scorpions, spiders and highly venomous snakes, or fall prey to caracal or serval, even rock pythons are abound in the grass that is everywhere around the town I reside in. Why unlucky for the tourists coming? Here tourists are very welcome and generally the local people are glad to have visitors from all over the world. But Americans are hailed, as you can imagine, American TV and Hollywood are big here. Rap music is also big and the youth are very influenced by your rap stars. Personally I think it has a negative impact as rap has become so synonymous with disrespect to sisters and vulgar language, incitement to hate and violence, its rather sad. And so many African-American stars have visited here since the end of apartheid, I think Americans are revered here. Pommy English come here, but they are too stiff for my liking. If you come here, be prepared to wait for service and not be mad about it, be prepared for power cuts and a no signal for your cellular phone. Funny enough with wireless internet you can be in the middle of the wilderness and you can get online, no problem. We get the odd New Yorkers who apart from battling to understand the thick accent, they are sometimes condescending and arrogant, maybe they’re born like that? I guess you get all types. Those temps are not warm at all by my standards. My God, how does one live in such extremely cold conditions is beyond me. Yeah, petrol is so damn expensive. I just wish someone could come up with a nuclear powered car that runs off some puny radioactive isotope of some obscure substance. Perhaps a hydrogen combustion engine that runs on water? Now that would be nice! I still think that the car is taking too long to evolve into a suitable vehicle for terrestrial transportation for this era. If it evolved as fast as the computer, then we would probably be gliding on magnetic fields or hovering on an air cushion. My imagination is running wild here. Sorry to hear that you all getting flu over there. The flu shot usually makes me mildly sick for three days and thereafter I don’t get sick at all. My space is a banned site on this network, as they claim it takes up too much bandwith. That is bull, though, but I will try and acess it from the linux or solaris platform, as the admin is not so tight on those. Take care. Cheers! Stokes |
