Nice Piranha!!
Oh my God, you actually have a piranha!! I believe Alaska is one of the few places where one is able to keep them. They are forbidden to keep or trade in, a total ban unless its at the zoos or national aquariums. I love lions yes, apart from being the name of my favourite rugby team, they are endemic to the region in which I live. Leopards also make good subjects, but that is if you can track them. At Lion Park I even got to be in a pen of a small pride, got to touch and play with their manes too. These were taken at Ngonyama Krugersdorp Game Reserve, but there is a special breeding program, not so far off from where I stay, where they breed lions and also South China and Bengal tigers. These species are being bred and grown in the African wilderness, as they fare better here than in Asia, where poaching has reduced them to a few specimens. How’s it like living here, I suppose its OK. In South Africa we have the best of both the first and third worlds. Like we have tarred roads, a good infra-structure to support trade and industry, but nice outback regions for exploring game viewing, bird watching as well as cultural attractions like Zululand. My area is known for its gold, so there are many mines where I stay, with gold being one of our top exports. We also grow crops like maize and wheat, tobacco, fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, litchis, watermelon, mangos, sugar cane and timber. Grapes are grown for winemaking, our wine making tradition goes back to the French Huguenots who escaped persecution and settled the wine-making region in the Cape. I live about 55km from where I live. We have to travel far to the city to work. On my way to work it is mostly rural areas where cattle, sheep and goats. Although most wildlife are behind fences these days, there are rogue animals that sometimes escape and take the livestock. Its summer now, so its hot and sticky, mostly the sun shines but we have short thunderstorms and rain. There are lots of bugs and mosquitoes. You cannot just drink out of any rivers and such, there are horrid diseases and parasites that can cause death. Walking in the bush you must be on the lookout for scorpions, snakes and smaller cats like caracal and serval. Their bites carry tetanus and rabies. Baboons and monkeys are a common occurrence in some areas, but lucky for us we do not live in such areas where monkeys and baboons descend upon a town and wreak havoc, teasing dogs and other pets, raiding kitchens and taking clothes of the line. Many are killed and beaten, but really its not the monkeys fault. They come in search of food, but baboons can inflict a nasty bite. On the East coast its warm and tropical, further west is the Lowveld, which has the Kruger National Park, lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery, subtropical. Then my area is Gauteng, more industrialized than other provinces. But we live on the savannah called the Highveld, where grass and shrubs with few trees grow. Also higher lying so its warm in summer and co
