The salukis are gone! Left this afternoon. Phew! I loved having them all here but I'm tired! Still 2 saluki people here though. 10 salukis and their people! Melian is relieved that it's over. At one point we had them all lure coursing in a HUGE field. Probably 20-30 acres. Anyway, all these salukis know each other and they decided to all chase Melian. She was not happy. She took off down the field with the whole pack after her. Halfway down the field the pack gave up. By then Melian had already reached the end of the field. She was SO fast that everyone just stared at her, open mouthed in amazement. AND, unlike the other salukis, she had just run 3.6 miles to get there! I'm so proud of my girl! 2 saluki judges were amongst the people and they said that in all their years they'd never seen a saluki as fit as Melian. They even said that if she were entered in a show she'd win Best in Show, hands down. No question about it. Not that I'm biased or anything, but as pretty as all these dogs were, I think Melian was the most beautiful! :) Do I like my dog, or what? How was your weekend? As tiring as mine?
