Yep, the dang ram
There was a point where I noticed about ten little halfbeaks in the tank swimming around in the floating hornwort. Now I can count two! I noticed that my Bolivian ram was not eating any food that I offer for several months. Then about a week after I saw the spawn, I was just getting a close exam of the ram to see if I could see any signs of why he wasn't eating. Then he sprung to life, started looking bright eyed and then bam! He snatch one of the little fry! I was like you little ....! So, I guess I weaned him on live foods. Funny, I was feeling sorry for him, but not so much anymore. Anyway, where did you buy your co2 system? Oh yeah, I got the wrestling halfbeaks at Petco for something like $3 or $4 for one, and did not do any thing special for them to breed. Just a variety of flake, pellet, and frozen foods and a temp around 77, 78 degrees. Had one jumper though so be warned otherwise a super cool fish. They try to bite me relentlessly when I have my arm in the tank, it tickles! Haha. Funny little guys! |
