Wish I could help all the strays. All my pets are rescues, my cat is now 18, had her since she was about 6mos old, my Akita mix is 17 (sadly, looks like I have to put him down this week) and my Rottie was 5 in June, will have had her 3yrs this Labor Day. Our desert albino gecko was also a rescue, not sure how old it is but we've had it 3 yrs +- as well. I guess only my fish are ever purchased new hehe, although I've rescued lots of cory cats that were either totally eyeless or only had one eye, the LFS petstore always gave me a deal and they all lived quite well. Yea, my little delicate buttercup of a Rottweiler, hehe. She's my baby all the way. You should see her on my lap as best she can when she has a case of the littles hehe. About once a month she wants up on me to help me read hehe. I cannot understand animal abuse. Well, I can't understand any abuse actually. As a survivor myself, whew, I still don't understand all the damage people feel the need to inflict to anything around them. Our temps have been in the high 80's, smoke has cleared a lot, and I now have lots of flowers enjoying the shorter days, cooler temps and are coming back with a vengeance. I'll be redoing my flowerbed this fall, learned a lot of what will and won't grow and hopefully next year things can be permanent while I add new things. This is my dream anyway! This high desert is really tough for growing but we're learning. Some things grow here like crazy, like virginia creeper, but I don't want that all over the place, just the fences and a tree is enough! Sure hope the kitty gets a great home, wish I could have it. I'm very partial to black cats, or mostly black torties or calicos. Well, guess that's enough babble. Have some chores to do and want to get them done so I can enjoy the afternoon. Hope yours is going well too. |
