Answer to question No the rocks are not glued together - yet. I've had a couple of minor rock cave ins and, had 1 major crash. Thankfully, I didn't lose any fish. The way I have these arranged now is very sturdy. Some are horizontal with the longer ones leaning against them. But, I'm going to start gluing them. I found 3 really interesting looking rocks recently, and the perfect place to put them. These I need to glue into place and in time as I notice any of the rocks getting unsturdy, they will be glued too. Do you have any suggestions about how to glue them? I'm leaving you another vote. Every time I look at your planted tank it wants me to set up another tank and try my hand at planting one up for myself. But, I'd have to move into a bigger place. I just don't have the room where I live now.
