Hello! All kids in my world are fantastic animal lovers. We rescued an albino desert gecko about 2 yrs ago, he's going strong, almost 10" long and funny as heck. We call him Derp (since he's not a herp hehehe). My nephew is looking forward to getting out on his own (he has a bit over a year to go) and then once he's settled, he plans on getting back into fish and other critters. We currently have 2 dogs (my baby is my 4.5yr old 139lb rescue Rottie, she is my guardian and lapdog hehe) an old cranky cat who is 18 that we rescued when she was about 6mos old and is still hunting and going strong, the Derp and my 3 fish tanks. After the old dog (he's almost 17 and a rescue as well, got him when he was 3mos old as a stray) and the old cat pass on, I'll rescue another cat but only want one dog...I am not a fan of cleaning up after 2 dogs daily! Cat boxes aren't a fave either so only one at a time there too. Since I'm home all day, pets are never lonely or bored. Teens on the other hand...enjoying some mildly rainy weather and still doing raking and bagging. I look forward to the day we can get rid of the cottonwood out front and put in a nice tree that doesn't shed all year long!
