hello
Just putting my two cents in about the Rams. I have both bolivian and german blue rams. My Bolivians are about 2 1/2 inches and my german blues are around an inch. Untill very recently they have spent there whole lives in an angel tank with 4 angels all around 4 inches. I never had any problems with any of them. I had to use tetras as dither fish because the german blues were a little shy but once they caught on to life in a community type tank they were fine. I moved them into a dwarf cichlid tank last week with my apistogrammas and still have had no problems, even with eggs in the caves they are quiet peaceful fish. My advise if you wanted to get the gbr is to ensure they are tank bred, I tried wild caught once and they died the fist time I did a water change, they were alot more colourful but they were fragile. my experience is the tank bred fish are no more difficult to keep then angelfish.
