Saturday Evening Hello!
Hi Stokes! Good to hear from you! Lots of "bugs" going around here in Raytown. Ours schools were closed a day recently due to so many students and teachers being absent because of the flu. We also have a bronchial virus about which is what I unfortunately have. Hate being sick...hate anything slowing me down!!!
Sorry to hear about the car accident. Did it involve another car? Since you said you were off work, you must have gotten hurt?
How does your daughter like the new school? Are there kids closeby that go to the same school? Here in Missouri we would say, Are there kids in your neighborhood? But I'm not sure that you refer to your different housing additions as "neighborhoods" there??
You asked if Kansas City was similiar to Iowa. There are A LOT more people here than there is in Iowa.
There are no bears here in my area. We actually have wild deer and fox that are trying to survive in what wooded areas are left. My husband was out walking the other morning and heard something strange and he'd come upon a deer by itself clomping down the city street. Kind of sad when you really think about it. A dog most likely had it running scared. It definitely took my hubby by surprise!! And just last week I was at a store called Wal*Mart that's just a minute from our house and a fox was in the parking lot looking for scraps. Have NEVER seen one out in a public place like that and as it ran across the busy highway my son and I were so scared it was going to get hit by a car.
Am so sad to hear about the witchcraft you have in your area. People burning others? And children being killed for human parts? Me oh my!
I'm very excited to say taht I purchased two krib cichlids for my 10 gallon tank. The male is gorgeous...so colorful. Have always wanted a cichlid tank and was happy to find some dwarf kribs. Hope to mpve them up to a 20 or 30 gallon at some point. Also recently got some blue dwarf gouramis for my community tank that are so pretty. The platties are nipping at them though....UGH!
The weather here has been so crazy. Much warmer than normal until last Wednesday. It is really cold here now...bitter cold. That wind will cut right through you if you're not bundled up. We have a chance of a big snow on Monday. We will see...my son is hoping we get some accumulation since he hasn't been able to play in any snow yet!
So sad to hear about the rhino poaching issues. What are the police like there? Is it hard for them to control helicopters coming in and doing such things? If a helicopter came in like that here we'd have SWAT teams and all kinds of police forces coming down on them.
There is bad and good no matter where you live. I appreciate you taking the time to write me. And to educate me to. About a place I have never been, and hear so much about.
Lav4 your beautiful tanks! Smiles, Rochelle
