No, I've never kept tank mates with my bettas. I don't have the problem feeding them, as when I had a filter, I baffled the flow so the current wouldn't be strong. I have a sponge filter now, so there is even less current. They do miss a piece of two here and there and I just have to point it out to them. Btw, you might want to get more otocinclus. They prefer to live in groups of 3 or more.
