aftermath
Had a great week as well, bf was off from the 18 until yesterday, we celebrated his 50th b-day with a large group, then all the turkey day fun, relatives from out of town and the usual chaos, lots of good food, lots more laughs and hugs, and then I did another turkey for Sun and well, whew. I'm sure glad I don't have much to do this week but relax! I don't black friday shop, we do our shopping and celebrate the holiday after the 25th, everything is cheaper, no crowds, less stress. With all our kids going in different directions all the time, we found this works better for our group when we get together later. We are getting a tree this year though, haven't done one is like 10 yrs...after I got divorced my kids and I moved 17x in 9yrs and well, putting up decor was just more work than any of us wanted, same for bf, though he didn't move that much, only a few times but rarely had his son for the holiday so we just fell out of it. Now that some of the kids have moved out and the living room is a living room again, we all agreed to a tree and all the trimmings. Most likely get one this weekend. Turns out we need a stand and a skirt too, mine didn't survive a fire. All other decor did though as it was in a different area, and we organized it all last year so I can even get to it this year. My cat never messed with the tree, none of my pets ever have. Don't know why, just lucky I guess. My dads cat is a destroyer of all things he deems unworthy for his domain, he's pretty funny cat. I can say that since he's not here tearing up my stuff hehe. Well, I guess I need to stop rambling on, glad to hear you had a nice week too! |
